The REVEAL Project Team has worked in 10 local authorities throughout the UK. Up to ten teachers in each authority have been involved, these teachers are known as ‘Link Practitioners’. REVEAL Project work in schools began in September 2006 and involved the observation of three lessons over three terms by one of our team. We aimed to see lessons capturing different ways in which the learner response system may be used within the classroom. We asked the link practitioner involved to donate the lesson resources that they have used for inclusion on this website. The resource database in the teacher zone is open to registered members and continues to grow. Members can gain access to numerous ideas and lesson resources from both the reveal team and other practitionerrs from throughout the UK. As the project progressed the REVEAL team offered advice and training in order to support practitioners in developing pedagogical approaches and becoming more confident learner response system users. The Team continues to provide further training, advice and support in the form of specific events organised at a local, national and international level as part of the project dissemination. The idea is to help staff, including new users, develop their practice in a non-intrusive, supportive way.
The information gained during the study has been used in the construction of a best practice DVD and a range of teacher support resources. These includes a 50 minute TV quality documentary that examines learner response system use across a range of age phases from Early Years to Higher Education. It also includes extensive advice and guidance documentation based on real classroom practice. The DVD is available to practitioners for a small postage, packaging and administration charge.
